Abigail Head is a soubrette soprano dedicated to telling stories honestly and dynamically through song. She aims to draw audience members into the stories she is telling whenever she is on stage. Recent roles include Despina in Cosi fan tutte (UGA Opera Theatre), Wife / Nadia (c) in A Visit to the Country (UGA Opera Theatre), and Suor Osmina in Suor Angelica (Peabody Opera Theatre). She has also performed as a singer and director in several scenes programs at the University of Georgia. In fall of 2022, Abigail premiered Down the Rabbit Hole, a one act opera based on Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, for which Abigail wrote the libretto and directed the production. In spring of 2023, Abigail is excited to perform as Anne Egerman in A Little Night Music at the University of Georgia.

When not performing, Abigail enjoys teaching voice lessons and working with friends and colleagues on performance practice. Helping students to effectively tell stories while maintaining healthy vocal technique is one of her goals in every lesson. As a singer, a teacher, and a director, Abigail keeps Bach’s signature in mind: Soli Deo Gloria. To God alone be the glory.
